Should We Sing THOSE Songs?

Whether to sing songs from Bethel, Hillsong, or other questionable sources may be the most hotly debated topic among worship leaders today, what some have labeled the “new worship war.” Simply stated: are worship songs tainted or polluted by their source, even if otherwise singable, biblically accurate, and theologically sound? As worship leaders, it’s important for us to understand this hot-button topic so we are prepared to answer when those in our congregations inquire. Let’s take a thorough and balanced look at these issues, considering arguments from both sides, while I offer my own perspective and draw some conclusions.
